To be honest with you, you really didn't have much of a committed relationship at only 4 months and texting, in my opinion, is no grounds to continue or maintain a relationship. Going off to college is a whole different game/life style and the beginning of a new and potentially exciting chapter in ones life and people/kids are more likely to change/grow faster due to all of the new experiences and people. Staying at home/home town and going to college is different but nearly as exciting and different as going away. Truthfully you should try and distance yourself from this guy and focus on your studies and perhaps meet a local boy. By hanging onto this guy you are only setting yourself up for even more heartache and slowing down the start of your new college life.
