Atheists: Can you answer these questions honestly, and without becoming cynical?

Consciousness and intelligence are produced by brains. Squishy pink things in animals' heads. So far, we haven't discovered consciousness and intelligence from any other source. And since brains and the creatures that they come with didn't exist before the birth of the universe and even for a long time after its birth, your question doesn't really make sense.
