Popular vs. Electoral votes.......?

This issue is ridiculous.... we need to just use the popular vote system. MORE people voted for Al Gore back in 2000 yet he lost due to the electoral votes. It's technically saying some of our votes don't count because Bush would have won anyway. Maybe not, I don't know. I just think it's stupid that senators' votes count more than ours. It shouldn't be that way.
