Aren't "white privilege" and other such sentiments really just?

A scam perpetrated against minoroties to make them feel as if they are less? Don't sentiments such as these simply help them feel perpetually maligned-against and reinforce the idea that they can't do anything without Whitey's help? If someone were truly a humanitarian and truly cared for minorities, instead of reinforcing and reiterating the idea that minorities are still somehow less, wouldn't they be promoting the idea that we ARE truly equal and trying to educate toward this end? Isn't doing anything otherwise actually promoting a divisive agenda rather than unity?
